Barbara Johnson-Langston has served in her community for several years as an advocate for children and an active Humanitarian. Johnson-Langston is a retired teacher of 28 years and has established her own non-profit organization named BJDL Academic Excellence Resources. The program assists with furthering children’s education and guides parents and students in the direction to success during critical milestones in the child’s life. For the teenagers that are preparing for college, she takes them on a College Tour (which now falls under her non-profit organization) that was created 25 years ago, to explore HBCUs and historical sites. Along with that, she takes them to College Prep Days when they are hosted at the universities in our area.
